My Art on iPhone Cases

Waves in Purple and Green speckcase
I’ve created several iPhone cases with my art on them at Zazzle.com. I haven’t seen them in person yet, so I can’t vouch for the quality, but my experience with Speck cases has been nothing but outstanding. I’ll be ordering one soon and will let you know how I like it.

There are cases for both the iPhone 3G/3GS and the iPhone 4. There’s even an iPad case there too.

The cases are pretty reasonable priced at $39.95. My experience with Speck cases is that they last forever and provide awesome protection for your iPhone or iPad, so you are definitely getting your money’s worth.

I will most likely be adding to this collection because I’m having a blast creating these cases. Bookmark www.zazzle.com/pmgdigitalsolutions and check back.

If there’s a certain piece that you would like on an iPhone case, let me know and we’ll work something out.

Enjoy the Journey

My advice to myself today is to enjoy the journey. It’s about being present and appreciating where I am. It’s about being grateful for the process and learning the lessons the steps along the way hold.

The picture in the image is from a bike trip I took through the Canadian Rockies in 2002. That figure on the right is me on my fully-loaded panniered bike. The figure a little further ahead of me in the shoulder is a guy in his 80′s. Sue and I spent most of the trip in this guys dust. It was a physically and emotionally challenging experience, and a fantastically beautiful trip, all at the same time. That’s life though, isn’t it?

So, today I’m reminding myself to enjoy the journey.

Daily Lesson: Make Art First

I’m back after 6 months. Many things have happened over the past 6 months that have filled up my life, leaving little time for art, but I’m back. There’s still a lot in flux, but I’m learning to roll with it better.

One of the lessons I’m learning is I need to keep making art. To do this though I need to make making art a priority. My mantra to accomplish this is “Make Art” or “Make Art First.” For example, I set the intention this morning to make art. I knew I had a good block of time first thing this morning to make art – that was the plan. There are always so many things vying for time though, and no sooner had I sat down when all the other things start popping up. These are all worthy activities and things that I will need to fit in sometime today, but I decided this morning that art got the priority. Whenever a thought of something else came to mind, I just said “make art” and got myself back on track.

After repeating this 85 times, I ended up with the piece to the left. It’s red and green because it was initially going to be some sort of holiday something. As I was looking for a focus for the piece, I thought of “Make Art” but it wasn’t the festive, holiday message I was looking for. But it wouldn’t go away (oh, I don’t know maybe repeating it 85 times had something to do with that). In the end, I let it win.

I don’t know what tomorrow or the day after will bring, but hopefully I will be posting more art. It’s a need not a want.

Today’s piece (the original, not the scaled down version here) is 320×480 and designed for the iPhone. I’ve started making art in this size to upload to the photos on my iPhone as a way of reminding myself of the things I want to stay mindful of.

Don’t forget — if you’re in need of online greetings or invitations, please check out my work on pingg.com. Thanks!!

Here’s my latest image posted to RedBubble.com. It’s available in all the usual sizes — greeting cards, postcards, matted, laminated, canvas and framed prints.

I’ve been experimenting with making things look painted in Photoshop. I’ve tried to give this the look of canvas. I’m curious to see how it prints on the RedBubble cards.
